Cohere is announcing that we have signed the EU Code of Practice on Transparency of AI-Generated Content, putting us among the first companies in the world to do so.

The Code is a voluntary tool that allows providers and deployers of AI systems to demonstrate compliance with Article 50 of the EU AI Act, which aims to ensure the integrity of Europe’s information ecosystem through transparent AI systems and outputs. Cohere has signed Section 1 of the Code, which is applicable to AI system providers.

Europe represents a critical market and strategic priority for Cohere, where we serve numerous enterprise and public sector customers and see tremendous opportunity for sovereign AI to drive innovation across critical industries. The signing builds on our broader commitment to developing trusted AI that supports Europe's goals for transparency, accountability and responsible innovation.

Our role as a signatory to this Code follows our signing of the prior EU AI Act Code of Practice on General Purpose AI Models. We look forward to continuing to engage proactively with partners, including the EU AI Office through channels like the AI Act Advisory Forum and the Code of Practice Signatory Taskforce, on the successful implementation of the AI Act.
