This is one of the first, out-of-the-box AI apps that are now available via Slack's new interface for AI apps, agents, and assistants. The Cohere AI app brings the power of our secure enterprise-grade Command R series of generative AI models directly to Slack, so you can access the most relevant information directly from your company’s data sources to do your best work and collaborate across teams. Our models excel at business use cases by using advanced retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) to ensure strong accuracy, with clickable citations that allow users to instantly verify responses.

In Slack, the Cohere AI app can help you with a wide range of tasks, from drafting copy to querying your company’s content. It can also search the web to do research, gather relevant data, and keep you up to date with the latest news. For example, a user can gather insights directly in Slack by comparing internal reports to external information from web sources. The app is designed to provide you with reliable answers to your questions based on your company’s trusted data sources.

The Cohere AI app in Slack covers all the functionality you would expect from a general language model assistant. With over 35 million users, and the average user spending more than 9 hours per working day connected in Slack, we wanted to provide users with a tool that allows them to stay in their workspace and connect with their colleagues alongside their important internal documents.

The Cohere AI app in Slack leverages RAG in your Slack workspace. Out of the box, we support connections with Google Drive and web search, and you can also connect to other data sources, like Notion or Dropbox, by setting up custom connectors. For local files, the app also supports interacting with documents uploaded directly into a Cohere AI chat.

Unique to the Slack experience, you can interact with the Cohere AI app and your colleagues at the same time in the same thread. This multiplayer aspect allows you to work collaboratively while benefiting from the assistance of a cutting-edge generative AI model.

Get started today

You can find the Cohere AI app in the Slack Marketplace. Once it is activated, simply tag @Cohere in channels, private DMs, or chat directly with the app. Cohere AI will respond in a thread that anyone in the channel or group can see, and you can follow up with additional requests by tagging @Cohere again.
