We’re celebrating our second year of Cohere For AI with 10 ways in which we have delighted in exploring the unknown. Here’s a look back on C4AI highlights on our second-year anniversary!

1️) Research Papers

Over the past two years, we’ve published 30+ papers, collaborated with researchers across 60+ institutions, and presented at top ML conferences across five continents.

2️) Aya

From the massively multilingual Aya 101, to setting new benchmarks with Aya 23. Featuring collaboration between 3,000 researchers, across 119 countries, Aya has also been a protest against who gets to participate in research. Learn more about Aya.

3️) Scholars Program

We’ve welcomed two cohorts of Scholars based across Germany, Brazil, India, Nigeria, Canada, and the United States. These emerging researchers now have 14 research papers to their names.

4️) Open Science Community

We aim to change the spaces where breakthroughs happen. Our community is made up of 3,000+ independent researchers, across 125+ countries, and has hosted 325+ virtual events. We owe the success of our community to the Leads who run 15 programs with focuses spanning ML subfields, regional affinities, and professional development opportunities. Join us.

5️) Guest Speakers

Key among our Leads’ contributions have been inviting and hosting 80+ guest researchers to present. Thanks to everyone who has shared their research and expertise with our community!

6) C4AI Command R and R+

35B and 104B parameter language models. With these open-weights releases, we continue to bridge the gap between researchers and cutting-edge technology.

7️) Research Grants

Accessing resources for ML research can be a challenge. We launched our Research Grant Program to address this and have awarded grants to 75+ researchers from 18 countries, including Canada, France, and Indonesia.

8️) Fireside Chats and Technical Governance Series

We’ve had the pleasure of sitting down with some of the leading voices in ML Research and AI Technical Governance. Thanks to everyone who has connected with us to share their insights and journey. Catch replays on our YouTube Channel.

9️) Conferences and Parties

While the majority of our work happens online, it is always special to connect as a community in person. We’ve loved gathering with you to share ideas and celebrate across five continents!
